The app uses carefully curated research and evidence, Alia guides users to a better understanding of how they can manage their health needs with medical cannabis. Through the app, patients discover the dosages best suited for them to find relief. The Alia app formulates a cannabis care plan and CBD dosage guide based on individual health needs.

Cannabis and your ENdocannabinionoid System: Baby You Were Made for This

Cannabis is a plant with both female and male plants. The female plants have the most potent concentration of cannabinoids and terpenes (the active ingredients). Cannabis is one plant with several different chemical compositions also known as cultivars or strains. Each strain has a unique blend of cannabinoids and terpenes; this is why different strains have different effects.

Endocannabinoid System (ECS)

ECS is the bodies way of creating homeostasis (balance). With the core functions to eat, sleep, protect and relax. We all produce cannabinoids known as endogenous cannabinoids anadamine and 2 AG. For example when you run you get “the runners high” It’s actually from your body producing cannabinoids in your ECS.

Phytocannabinoids (the cannabis plant) work with your ECS. That's why cannabis can help relieve a variety of symptoms including; pain, nausea, anxiety, psoriasis, seizures, muscle spasms, infections, PTSD and more. The effects of cannabis are from the cannabinoids and terpenes that are concentrated in the trichomes (the sticky part of the cannabis flowers).

It is the combination of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids that create the "entourage effect."

The entourage effect means the plant works best in its whole state and not isolated or synthetic parts.

Cannabis has three classes (taxonomy): Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Ruderalis. The categories describe how the plant grows. Indica is short and fat, Sativa’s are tall and slender, and ruderalis is similar to a vine. The class has nothing to do with the effects. It is part of cannabis folklore and culture and is not an accurate way to describe the results from cannabis.

The effects from cannabis are from the active ingredients; cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.
