"And so the tale is told while surfing on the board of Shabazz Palaces, with its sturdy sort of base angled for takeoff on a new trajectory. There is new blood and space and room to be different and have different assets and different art and different ways to talk and also open up some space inside to do something new. There are pages and there are drawings, and color and faces and inked dialogues written in ancient futuristic hieroglyph. There are scales and there is melody and there are Sunny days and there is Darkness, but that—it should be noted—to the Palaceer is not a lack of illumination or brightness. Maybe it is dark, but in it is always optimism and joy, a bright darkness and a full, hopeful one as well.

It comes in gold, and it comes for the night. And so Quazarz sang the Jealous Machines. And so too did the Jealous Machines sing the Gangster Star."

Special thanks to Maui Brewing Co for being the sole beer sponsor of this event and for also supporting the Soundshop music education program.

Maui Brewing Co:
As the largest authentic Hawaiian craft brewery, Maui Brewing Company is recognized worldwide for quality and innovation. Not only are they one of first craft brewers to package in recyclable aluminum cans, Maui currently packages in the most eco-friendly materials. They have a strong commitment to their local economy and a deep concern for the environment. Their spent grain is given to local farmers for feed and compost. And Maui Brewing Company uses renewable energy sources for greater sustainability.

Burn All Books: (Risograph Print Sponsor)
Our RISOGRAPH works using either a traditional copier scan bed or digitally via a parallel-to-USB cable, burning the image onto a master stencil with a thermal plate. The master stencil is then attached to a fast-rotating ink drum, which presses the ink onto the page through the stencil. Ink Drums are designated to one color at a time and our RISOGRAPH can only house a single drum, thus multi-color prints require multiple runs through the machine.
